Yes. If one of our DBD products is marked ready, its current known status is undetected.
DBD has been around for a long time and so has its cheat scene. If a security change requires developer work, the product goes into maintenance until the updated build is ready rather than letting customers use an outdated version.
DBD is currently testing Denuvo Anti Cheat on Steam as part of its new Anti Cheat Trials. This is separate from Denuvo DRM and, for now, it is a trial rather than a permanent replacement announcement.
For our customers the important part is product compatibility. Our developers handle changes on their end, and any affected product will show maintenance status while work is being completed.
DBD’s EAC implementation has had a poor reputation in the community for years. Blatant and subtle cheating has continued to exist despite EAC, and DBD players have regularly pushed for better detection and stronger server side checks.
The fact that Behaviour is now trialing additional anti cheat providers tells you how much the security side of DBD is changing in 2026.
DBD is heavily information based. Survivor ESP, Killer ESP, generator information, pallets, hooks, totems, chests and other map entities can completely change how much information you have during a match.
Depending on the product, you may also find movement, aura, skill check and other survivor or killer specific options. The exact feature list is shown on each product page.
If the current build is unaffected, nothing changes and you keep using it normally.
If an update requires developer work, the product remains listed but enters maintenance. It cannot be used while maintenance is active. Once the updated build is finished and verified, the product returns to ready status.
Dead by Daylight has always had a very particular cheat scene. It is not just about aim. Player information, aura style visuals, generator tracking, killer and survivor ESP, movement information and quality of life features are what make a proper DBD product useful.
DBD has historically relied heavily on Easy Anti Cheat, an implementation that has never had the greatest reputation inside the community. Behaviour is now experimenting with additional protection, including the new Denuvo Anti Cheat trial on Steam, so the game is going through one of its bigger security changes in years.
Our DBD lineup stays focused on products that keep up with those changes while still offering the features people actually buy DBD software for.
